Maruyama Zoo, Sapporo

(3.8/5 based on 550 reviews on the web)
Stroll through the quaint Maruyama Zoo, with enclosures designed to help you get up close to more than 184 species in the park. Despite its relatively small size, you can see many animal favorites, such as bears, chimpanzees, wolves, and various big cat species at the zoo. Winter serves as the most spectacular time to visit, with thick layers of snow helping the snow leopards, penguins, and polar bears feel at home. Kids will have a ball at the petting zoos, with plenty of farm animals and even kangaroos to meet. • Well here goes well with children and junior high school students free of charge and the small children to play in, you can stay for a long time. I think I'm well devised to be seen how to exhibit animals alive and moving.

  • Prepared cold of January, so we went dressed, but most animals were in the building, the tour was a warm room. Just wipe the lid to eyeglass lenses come from walking in the snow and cloud that often. Seen at close range do not experience such as polar bear, Tiger, Lion, giraffe. Lion House floor height changes children's stature in the lion's Zoo has been devised to be in the same perspective, it was.

  • The closest I can see multiple animals. Everland is unenviable Zoo Safari at all.

  • The kids' zoo part is wonderful! Children and adults are able to get close to harmless animals like sheep, chickens, mini horses. It's a good place for family and dating couples.
  • Nice zoo. Nicely situated on the mountain side. Cheap. One year pass incredibly cheap. Fairly long walk uphill from the closest subway station.
  • The enclosures are just too small. Very sad looking animals all round. The facilities are great, but it's too small and I feel nothing but sadness when I visit here
  • My 1st Self-drive (F&E) tour. My 1st visit to Japan. Visited Maruyama Zoo after Maruyama Park and Hokkaido Shine. This is a small zoo. There aren’t many animals in this zoo.
  • Good for 2 hours visit. The animals enclosures look tiny though
