  • The buildings in the village come with a past - they were brought in from other places. The village itself is pretty large, so give yourself more time to look around.  more »

  • A beautiful outdoor museum with all the old buildings of Hokkaido. This is a beautiful place to take photos. A horse carriage runs along the center of the road. Recommended to take a ride and enjoy the scenery. There is a children playground where you can play with tops, stilts, swings and more games. A free art and craft lesson is available to try out making your own toys. Transportation to this place is infrequent. remember to check the schedule.
  • Lots of historic houses of different era in Japan. A section for kids to experience traditional childs play. My kids loved it.
  • Although not so much tourist but actually its a very interesting open air museum with rebuild of various historical building... wondering around is very convenient...
  • I'm torn, it's a reconstituted village with buildings from very different periods of time. Some are better than other. I've seen better more authentic villages, but if you haven't, you may enjoy this one.
  • If you played an RPG game you should visit. It feels like one. it takes you back to 1800-1900s Because of an open museum, you are inside the village and can even visit each house, hospital, farm, school, etc.
