  • From forest park train station is about 10 minutes by bus. They saved a lot of buildings in Hokkaido's pioneering days, or just slip past was like. Glimpses of old shops and houses, people's life.

  • A village which preserved all the characteristics of Hokkaido. Town Hall, Museum, Church, Temple, warehouse, trade house of candy factory, drawing, carpentry, Fisherman's House, etc. Considerate hostesses for each House. Beautiful park.

  • A good little place to explore various styles of original Japanese and 'Western' Japanese housing. It's not mind blowing but we enjoyed the beautiful winter scenery that went with it. Get a Sapporo Select Course B ticket to access this, the museum and 1 other location of choosing from a small list (such as the TV Tower) for ¥1,350.
  • Authentic, tranquil, historic structures gathered in one beautiful setting.
  • Couldn't think of a better place to spend a blistery afternoon! Shortly after we arrived we were greeted by a friendly volunteer who was quick to offer us a free guided tour of the sprawling complex. The kind gesture really made our trip; the buildings came alive as their historical value was explained to us and the intense effort it took to reassemble all the buildings in a centralised location. It had the potential to feel like a tourist trap, but it really didn't. The boards and demonstrations were illustrative and informative, would definitely recommend!
  • Great place to know Japan historic places
  • Cute but a bit out of the way. You can print postcards on an old fashioned printing press.
