Inspect the 11-headed, gilded wooden statue of the goddess Kannon at Hase-dera Temple. One of the largest in Japan, and reputedly carved in 721 CE, the 9.18 m (30 ft) idol remains one of the main draws of this Buddhist temple, along with the striking architecture and museum of the temple's artifacts (including more statues). Explore the seven buildings of this mountainside pilgrimage site, which also has a lengthy underground tunnel. Enjoy peaceful reflection in the picturesque gardens, meditating over the peaceful koi ponds and year-round splendor. • From the Kintetsu station will take you about 20 minutes. Into the environment enjoyed going up the stairs and autumn leaves. From the stage of building of temple five-story pagoda and leaves. I want to visit also the cherry blossom season.

  • Absolutely amazing place, well worth the trek out to see it. Very peaceful. Spend some time just sitting on the terrace, and have an aimless wander around the expansive grounds. Particularly beautiful in sakura season, and, I imagine, for 黄葉 as well
  • Brilliant large buddhist temple in a great location. Amazing autumn colours across this whole valley. The temple itself is a fantastic timber architecture with a large deck overlooking the valley and town below.
  • Behind the main temple there is a raised platform where you can see the valley below. All single wooden objects many meters tall.
  • Nice temple with a long history.
  • I have to visit here next trip!
