  • Apart from that facility not owned by JR train originated in Hokkaido, former temiya line and temiya station premises are available, the Railway Museum and even funny, not Railway Museum over its facilities such as vehicles, garage, turntable, I would spot a tired to train like one day stay. At the entrance of the Otaru City Museum, Suha 43 717 and wafu 29500 type vehicle passenger car and a caboose placed trueno (Treno) which means fittingly trains in Italy, the name restaurant. 11-14 at lunch when I think. And a statue of Joseph Crawford is located at the entrance of the Museum. Welcome figures is known as the father of Hokkaido Railway was completed the work in a short period of time, determines the construction of a railway route to Crawford's American engineers will construct a railway in Hokkaido, Japan, was still in uncultivated Hokkaido. SL imported 0/1885 in the Hall of the Museum "and noticed no.", you can know the history of the Hokkaido Railway, diorama or exhibited, reproduced at the time was also exhibited. In the outdoor exhibit, deeply connected to Hokkaido 30 exhibits two or more vehicles. You can see it enters its interior vehicle of the Japanese national railways age and old old SL, limited express trains, including the rare vehicles that have been exhibited. Unusual steam locomotives was a C55 type. The KIHA 82 series, contributed to the vehicle continued working until predecessor type C57-became quite famous in the name of "the Lady", from a line of Japanese national railways (currently, JR) on all steam locomotives are not in Hokkaido, and local non-electrified lines. Thanks to this vehicle is made with express operation becomes possible. 1961 (0/1961) starting operation in Hokkaido. Origin, ran for various fields, such as Sapporo, Abashiri and Kushiro Hakodate. Vehicles include snow structures developed and for Kyushu ED76-red electric locomotives, electric locomotives, and changed the specification in Hokkaido. Old hands Palace garage is included in the important cultural asset in the country. Is stored is extant oldest locomotive made in the was victory no. 1895 (0/1895). It got this name from the Sino-Japanese War victory. I called from the red car railbus is the small vehicles made for the local line, such as Hokkaido, but failed to rush to the short duration of use. It is a valuable vehicle. I think that serious vehicle maintenance. That could Jinx future, and I think with SL and vehicle recommended photo. Otaru City Museum closed Tuesday and since year-end and new year holidays, opening hours from 9:30 to 5:00 PM, it's snowing in winter outdoors stop is by all means visit in spring, summer and fall seasons it?.

  • Hand Palace is an important place for the Hokkaido Railway. There was once a railway museum, Transport Museum and put it in the name of Otaru city, University Museum! Take a look at hope and renamed. The hotel are facilities for adults and children. Proof is a little dark, so a little brighter.

  • Lee said, and the Museum is now Railway Museum and feeling. I mean the train museum was originally seems to be? I like is that SL was active in here, Hokkaido to iron wota, diesel, electric locomotives, coaches, wagons, Russel car number displayed, reproduce the appearance at that time depending on what is it isn't saving state. This is a pretty disappointing levels, such as the degradation of the coating. I also donated from the little money spent, that feeling. Exhibit using models of the old hotel, which is also quite nice.

  • Amazing experience for kids and adults. Includes steam train ride.
  • It's a very basic museum, but if you like train history, you may enjoy it.
  • Not much to see in here. However, there's a small coffee bar with some excellent beer and coffee. Some antiquities for sale at reasonable prices. Found a cool old ship's flag for 1500 yen.
  • The ground floor of this museum focused exclusively on Hokkaido's railway network, with exhibits described in both Japanese and English. Upstairs was less well organised with no English labelling. Overall a slightly disappointing experience.
