Tokyo Skytree, Oshiage

4.2
#5 of 4,794 in Things to do in Tokyo
Piercing the skyline at 634 m (2,080 ft), Tokyo Skytree hosts a restaurant, a broadcasting tower, and an observation deck. Ride the elevator up, and then take in 360-degree views of Tokyo while climbing the five-story spiral staircase to the highest glass-walled panoramic viewing deck. A gift shop inside the tower sells sleek design items and souvenirs, and within the observation area you will find a cafe and a French-Japanese fusion restaurant. • Great time to see the city from above. The tower is high and interesting. The elevator is very fast. Has shops and cafeteria.

  • (Cheap, mesmerizing view, WORTH IT) Visiting one of the tallest standing towers in the world in the most developed in the world is amazing. I can’t believe I was able to see this with my own eyes. Surrounding by millions of people in the busiest cities ever. Just looking over this view is amazing. Will recommend coming here as it gets dark (golden hour & night)!
  • The Tokyo Skytree provides an amazing look at Tokyo from high up. On a clear day you can see the entire city all the way to Mt. Fuji. The cost to get to the 350m height was worth the amazing views. There was a cafe up there to relax and enjoy the sights. The 360 degree view provides a different perspective on all the unique parts of the surrounding area. We didn't pay the extra to go up higher so I can't speak to if that is worth the extra money or not.
  • Awesome place. I'd stay this is a must visit when in Tokyo. View is just amazing; the city just keeps on spreading as far as the eye can see, and in a nice weather, even mount Fuji is visible, remarkable! I recommend going in before the sunset and staying in beyond that. There are enough bars/restaurants to spend your time, for example, sipping beer next to windows and watching the view smoothly transforming from day to night full of lights. And I also recommend visiting the higher level; the view doesn't change that much, but come on, how often can you visit an observation deck that high?
  • Great view of Tokyo! This place must be crazy when it's busy, but I guess that is consistent with all of Tokyo. We were fortunate to be there on a fairly quiet evening and actually go a pretty great view of the sunset over Mount Fuji.
  • Tallest point in urban Tokyo! Fantastic day and night 360 degrees view of Tokyo, foreign visitors can purchase a fast pass to skip some part of the long queuing process up the tower. Overall well managed process makes the whole experience a bliss despite the vast number of visitors there. The Shop up top and in the 5/f were okay but nothing specular. Sunset view would be excellent. Makes one appreciate the great city of Tokyo from high up.
