Tokyo Skytree, Oshiage

4.2
#6 of 4,209 in Things to do in Tokyo
Piercing the skyline at 634 m (2,080 ft), Tokyo Skytree hosts a restaurant, a broadcasting tower, and an observation deck. Ride the elevator up, and then take in 360-degree views of Tokyo while climbing the five-story spiral staircase to the highest glass-walled panoramic viewing deck. A gift shop inside the tower sells sleek design items and souvenirs, and within the observation area you will find a cafe and a French-Japanese fusion restaurant. • Very expensive entrance. On level 1 3000 per person plus 2000 for the next (we didn't go up) a lot of people. More than 20 minutes to do there. Sunset there is not visible due to the smog. Fuji is also not visible. The city is at your fingertips.

  • First things first. My top tip, if it’s your birthday, weather 5 or 96 tell them! You’ll get a badge and extra special treatment on your walk round. The staff will politely wish you happy birthday and make you feel great! I would recommend an early doors visit to avoid the crowds. The views are amazing and they let us change the times on own tickets because the weather was poor on the Initial visit. The sky tree is also part of a shopping centre so plenty of food and drink is available to be purchased. The bath rooms are clean and tidy.
  • Absolutely stunning, never seen anything like it, the city just goes on forever. The staff spoke English, and all the information is also available in English. We went up to 450 and would really recommend it. Walking up the extruding walkway was incredible. We went at night, which unfortunately meant we couldn't see Mt. Fuji, but the views were stunning at night. Would probably recommend getting up there just before sunset for the best of both worlds!
  • Could not recommend this experience enough! Was so worth the money to go all the way to the top and stay up there for a little of the day into sunset so you get to see mt Fuji and into the night so you get to see all the spectacular city lights. The transformation in the view is incredible. If you have time to kill or just love seeing things from above it is well worth it. It is also very easy to communicate with the staff to purchase a ticket even if you have little knowledge on how to speak Japanese.
  • I really enjoyed my experience at Tokyo Skytree. When we arrived, we went to a help desk. They had someone that spoke English. It was a crowded day, and they told us that we could purchase a pass to skip the line. Going through the elevator was exciting because you are able to look outside through the clear glass. At the first stop there are great views and shops. You can purchase pictures through many sections of your tour. My tip is to go on a clear day so that you can enjoy the views.
  • This is the place for a polished few hours of decadence! You will spend your time high up in the tallest radio transmission tower in the world. The facility is refined with Tokyo at your feet. The restrooms even equipped with bidets. It was really nice to see all of Tokyo and there is a map with a touch screen where you can swipe up or down left or right and view locations in the city. It has a night button where you can view Tokyo at night.
