Thermal Spa Onsen Resort
A single-story wooden house built on a slope, the Naruko Onsen public bath of Takinoyu provides the ultimate hot spring experience. Set in the midst of Kurikoma mountain range, this is the oldest and one of the leading hot spring shrines in the Tohoku area. Only a three-minute walk from Naruko Onsen station, this gender-separated establishment doesn't offer soap or shampoo, as its water has a natural sterilization effect. Soak in hot pools of various temperatures as the naturally heated water pours in from wooden pipes. The whitish, acidic-tasting water contains sulfur, giving your skin a great shine despite its strange appearance.
