  • This is a must for every kitchen knife enthusiast! I bought my knife here on holiday and was helped awesomely! The staff was able to help me choose the perfect knife for me. I was allowed to try out all the knives I wanted om some vegetables the had prepared. They also showed me how to sharpen and care for the knife. Would buy a lot more if I had the money ;)
  • So I'll start by saying I'm a rubbish cook so owning a Japanese chef's knife seems slightly unnecessary. But aspirational culinary skills aside, I'm really glad we found these guys. They took so much care in talking us through the different knife styles and helped us select some all purpose knives to buy. Really would recommend anybody who's considered investing in a good knife for the kitchen drop in and take a look - they're very reasonably priced, the staff really care and the quality is unreal.
  • The only place in Japan I will ever buy my knives very helpful staff shoal fluent English and are very knowledgeable. Bring your passport as you will get tax free savings! I have loads of hrs looking for knives all over Japan and this was the best place! Please do go!
  • If you are looking for an authentic knife shop, this is the one to head for. Bjorn spent an hour of his time, without even knowing I was going to buy anything, educating me (in English) on all things knife and which would be the perfect knife for me. He worked with my slim budget and I left with a beautiful, authentic Japanese knife (and a lot more informed than when I came in). Professional, patient and informative. Look no further!
  • What an amazing place. Truly was impressed. Atsushi was very knowledgeable about knives and also a very funny guy which went out of his way to help us out. I'm a professional chef from Sydney which came across their store. Also took their water stones sharpening class which was also very informative. Good prices and beautiful knives. They also said if I needed any help in the future they can help me through email, and that I can send a picture of my knife through email if I have any questions about sharpening or maitanance. Big thanks to all the staff. Cheers Som

Where to stay in Osaka

The majority of Osaka's moderate and expensive accommodations concentrate in the districts of Umeda, Kyobashi, Namba, and Shin-Osaka. Base your stay in or near Minami neighborhood for proximity to a wide selection of shopping and dining options. For quick access to long-distance transportation to other cities and areas, look for hotels in Kita district. Many backpackers prefer the budget options in the Tennoji area, where the quality of rooms and prices vary wildly--call or check websites of specific establishments before you make reservations.
