  • Lights up beautifully at night, gradiently switching from color to color. It's a rather cheap price for a wonderful view as it climbs extremely high in the sky. The wheel spins slowly so it gives you lots of time to truly soak in the view. There are various combo packs you can purchase from the tourist centers near subways, which include passes to the aquarium, pirate ship, and rail passes.
  • Amazing views of the city with a see through cabin all to ourselves. Great value for 800 yen and a 15 min ride time. Would recommend the train / walk
  • Initially skeptical about this one, but now stand corrected. You get to sea the land, sky and air all in one with a solid 15 minutes of peace. Recommended if you visit any nearby attraction and do lookout for combo passes to save a few yen!
  • One of my favourite places in Japan. Lovely shopping mall with loads of great places to shop and eat. Very ,very friendly staff and locals. Nothing is ever too much trouble
  • Worth the experience. Though if you are afraid of heights like me, it can be quite daunting when it's windy and the "cabin" you are seated start to sway front and back and you hear the "squeaking" sounds it made. I frankly was not enjoying it while I was in it. Just wish the ride is over as soon as possible. However to be fair, the problem is me & not the ride itself. Otherwise wonderful view. Whole ride is approximately 15 mins or so.

Where to stay in Osaka

The majority of Osaka's moderate and expensive accommodations concentrate in the districts of Umeda, Kyobashi, Namba, and Shin-Osaka. Base your stay in or near Minami neighborhood for proximity to a wide selection of shopping and dining options. For quick access to long-distance transportation to other cities and areas, look for hotels in Kita district. Many backpackers prefer the budget options in the Tennoji area, where the quality of rooms and prices vary wildly--call or check websites of specific establishments before you make reservations.
