SpaWorld, Osaka

3.7
#1 of 20 in Spas in Osaka
Bathe in the hot springs of SpaWorld, a vast onsen-style bathhouse with two themed floors used by women and men interchangeably, depending on the month of the year. When bathing in the European zone, you can enjoy spa activities, such as the Finnish sauna and ice baths, before trying out the Greek mud bath or relaxing on a submerged deck chair in the Mediterranean pool. Similarly, in the Asian zone, you’ll find a traditional Japanese bathhouse, Persian milk baths, and Balinese massages. Clothing and tattoos are prohibited in the baths, although you can wear swimsuits in the mixed-gender pool and baths on the top floor. Plan your visit to SpaWorld and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Osaka trip maker site .

  • Comparing to the experience in Odaiba Onsen Monatagari , this is cheaper with even much more to enjoy. Do take note that if you want to experience Asian/European version of the SPA , it's gender seper...  more »
  • And staying at a hotel, asked to get into the hot springs. In the odd-numbered and even-numbered months, in Europe and Asia. I was in Europe, Finland sauna. Did not feel crowded so crowded is large.

  • There are a lot of choices for onsen for both males and females. Appreciate the large resting area where you could stay and take a good rest. I was on 6/F (floors for males and females would swap mont...  more »

  • One of the most unexpected things we did in Japan - visit a public pool! We went there with our son and went to the top floor where the kids pools and slides were. Once we were done we discovered that they had a whole extra floor (two actually but one was for men and one for women) with tons of saunas, pools and other stuff. Really interesting experience I would recommend.
  • A must see place when you are in Osaka. I do think it is the largest in door spa on earth. Excellent services, delicious Japanese food, and more, they have the place for sleeping over night inside. Totally relaxed with very affordable price appx. 22$/ night. You will miss it, forever...
  • An interesting experience for a foreigner, Spa world has a way of dazzling you with the variety bathing options to be had in one building. Definitely a great place to spend the day pampering yourself. With Spas, baths, saunas, masseuses, restaurants, and even an 8th floor water park. Also highly affordable for what's provided.
  • A huge spa complex, even including a hotel. We had a great afternoon soaking in the various pools. To start with the staff have obviously dealt with some really stupid and unreasonable foreigners before. So they'll go through an information sheet with the rules before letting you in. Most importantly, tattoos are not allowed at all. You're not allowed to wear anything on the (gender-segregated) spa floors but you don't need to worry, there's all shapes and sizes there. We were a bit disappointed at first that it was the men's turn for the European floor when we were there, we'd been hoping for the Asian one. It worked out fine though, the saunas in "Finland" were good and we especially enjoyed the outdoor waterfall pool in "Spain". We didn't use the (mixed, swimsuits required but can be hired) swimming pool but it looked quite OK, with several slides. Overall, a good way to spend an afternoon in Osaka, especially if the weather's not so good.
  • This is a cross between a traditional onsen/Japanese bath house with a theme park. There are two floors of themed baths (Asian themed and European themed) that alternative every month for men and women respectively. Aside from soaking in hot water or saunas, there's also an assortment of snacks, restaurants, and other activities here as well. Everything from massages, fish spa, kids playground, gym, nap rooms can all be found here. Overall, it's a great way to relax for a couple hours.
