An Osaka neighborhood inspired by Paris and New York , Shinsekai offers visitors a riotous array of colorful signs, tiny eateries, and bustling crowds packing the narrow streets. You can wander the busy lanes and see how the working-class Japan lives, or grab some traditional barbecued meats and vegetables at one of the multitude of inexpensive diners along the way. Look towards the center of the district and you'll see the 103 m (338 ft) tall Tsuten-kaku--a distinctive steel tower originally constructed in 1912. Make Shinsekai a centerpiece of your Osaka vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Osaka itinerary maker.

関西にかなり長く住んでいるのに、初めて新世界に行きました。わりと狭い事に驚きました。でも通天閣は趣があって良いなぁと感じました。Live quite a bit longer in the Kansai region, but for the first time went to the new world. I was surprised at the comparatively narrow. But a good atmosphere was tsutenkaku felt.show original

I felt a dynamic mix of people, do not lend themselves well to families with young children. There are many many foreigners too much pattern often not locals. Feeling in kushikatsu went too slowly can dangle didn't just eat, returned immediately.show original
A shopping area with very long history. No modern building nor modern shop. But you could feel it. It is the landmark in Osaka for decades. Just walk around and you could feel the another side of Osaka.,
I love the atmosphere here. It's fun and very attractive me to check how people in osaka live.
Very beautiful neighborhood at night. It was raining when I was there and felt like it was right out of the movie "Blade Runner".
Beautiful at night when it is shining, boring during daylight.
Very strange and nostalgic place. Worth seeing.
