As already seen, the Castle "stoplperten" We then can this ealier that suffers like many modern museums "meaningless", because in each of the 6 to chosen floors is scratched only a short period of Osaka City history, that however well resolved. After all, let by the glass-enclosed staircase shoot wonderful images of the castle in the park opposite. A special exhibition (August 17) with Sumo wrestlers and their swords, which could under no circumstances justify overpriced additional entry. After all, the entire building is comfortably air-conditioned.

Special exhibition was Sumo and Samurai sword. Exhibitions tour each floor while come back down from the 10th floor. Staircase Windows overlook the Osaka Castle and Naniwa Palace park. Each floor is ancient to contemporary and chronologically, you can learn the history of Osaka. Exhibits will be studied so that the reproduction of each era, especially the 10 f (phase 2) perfection of the Naniwa Palace daigokuden is very high. I didn't see the Naniwa Palace (one term) underground this time. I think this could be. Good walk from tanimachi 4-Chome station.

This museum is very large with many floors. At certain levels there are interactive games with the staff. You can also perform a "hands-on" archeology work. It can be in the form of "puzzles" ie rebuilding a shattered vase from archeology site. Others can be arranging findings in order etc. So you can appreciate the difficulties faced by those people looking for ancient artefacts. There are many replicas to township, people, etc to explain history and custom of people at certain times. It is not boring to be here and there are ample seats around. As you go downstairs you can see breathtaking views of Osaka through the glass panels. Downstairs there is a cafeteria.

Awesome museum. A lot of information and has a nice view overlooking a ancient village that was there. There are some information that does not have any English translation.

Visited this place on 20 May 2017. Nicely completed in 1.5 hours. If you do not understand Japanese, it is highly recommended to get the audio guide as most of the write ups are in Japanese. They have some interactive corners which are great for kids.

Really enjoyed the museum. Not everything has an English translation but you can tell a lot of care has gone into this museum. Well worth a visit if you have the time.

Very interactive and well organized museum. You will go down from the 10th to the 7th floor as you witness Osaka evolve through the ages. Even though the museum is focused on the history of Osaka, you can get a good glimpse of who the country evolved.

Where to stay in Osaka

The majority of Osaka's moderate and expensive accommodations concentrate in the districts of Umeda, Kyobashi, Namba, and Shin-Osaka. Base your stay in or near Minami neighborhood for proximity to a wide selection of shopping and dining options. For quick access to long-distance transportation to other cities and areas, look for hotels in Kita district. Many backpackers prefer the budget options in the Tennoji area, where the quality of rooms and prices vary wildly--call or check websites of specific establishments before you make reservations.
