  • The castle itself has been rebuilt from the ground up, and while the entrance fee is rather steep compared to other attractions in Kyoto, it is definitely worth us to go to the top. I'd reccomend taki...  more »
  • Osaka Castle is a very nice landmark. It's educational and you will learn a lot about Japanese history. It's a museum inside the castle. Outside the castle looks beautiful. Definitely worth a visit !  more »

  • This castle was Epic! The structure is still in quite good condition - largest of all the castles we visited in Japan - a few activities you can do outside with kids, saw many people bring their Shiba's! And heaps of food, definitely have the beef skewers and some soft cream. It was heaven
  • I spent a week in Japan, and I chose to spend two full days at the Osaka Castle. A beautiful structure, amazing grounds with so much to see and explore, plenty of space to be in the crowds doing tourist things, or picnic in the grass off in a quiet corner. Love that the castle is treated as a city park, in a lot of ways. Getting to see the locals was more immersive than just hanging with fellow tourists. The gift shop is a robust store, bought a lot of souvenirs and things for me too. Varying foods at the food trucks, but my favorite was the fried chicken, so good. Night or day this is a wonderful place to visit, to be at peace with nature and history. Take your time to explore, there is so much more than just a castle to see.
  • Beautiful castle. Huge area to check out so give yourself a lot of time if you want to see it all. I was disappointed inside the actual castle; having visited others like Matsumoto which have actual interiors. Osaka castle is more of a museum inside. There is no original or replica interior. It's all updated and purpose built to house the museum. So if you are keen on artifacts like letters and pictures check it out. Otherwise I felt the only reason to go inside is to check out the surrounding view. Personally the best views were from outside.
  • Very beautiful masterpiece, but be prepared for a really long and meaningful walk. However the walk is very worth it, if you're able to you should really visit this place. Personally I was very lucky to be able to catch some of the glimpse of flowers blooming. Very nice mini food Street and easy access to the restrooms if needed so do not worry, there is also a convenient store there !
  • Osaka Castle is a must stop for anyone visiting the city. I've been to Osaka for the past 6 years and everytime I go, I visit...my friends are asking me if I'm not tired of it...I'm not! If you like history, architecture, you HAVE TO go there. Unfortunately, the place brings a lot of tourists that don't have much manners but I can't take a star off for that...it's not the castle fault.
