Osaka Castle, Osaka

4.0
Built and rebuilt numerous times since 1653, Osaka Castle looms over its surrounding gardens, moats, imposing stone walls, gates, and turrets. Take the elevator up to the observation deck on the castle’s eighth floor, or wander the garden between the complex’s many structures, stopping in the tea house for a snack. The castle, originally intended to help with the unification of Japan, was captured and changed hands over a dozen times. Visit the museum within to learn more about the castle’s history. • Architecture, like Kurosawa films, such as the magnificent atmosphere. You pay the symbolic entrance fee. A two way direction up the stairs, down the other direction. A very spacious garden, student groups are no less.

  • Osaka Castle is another key Ascend Marcelo LAN who everyone should visit in Osaka. Aspects, in addition to the Castle, there is also a cute, coffee and confectionery and souvenirs too. If the coming holidays, there will be a hat show.

  • Beautiful place to visit. It requires a bit of walking. As the park is quite big and the castle is on top of the hill. It is really nice and one of the greatest thing was to make a picture with a samurai. You would make a picture for free with he person and also wear a helmet like a samurai. The person is probably private and not part of the office staff of the park but it was great for picture taking. The area is also really nice. Scenery is like you go back in time. Very impressive.
  • It's a castle so of course it's super cool to visit and get photos of! The museum inside is okay. Lots of neat displays. I had really hoped to see old architecture on the inside but it's quite modern. Only the outside looks like the original castle. The mascot outside is kinda weird and I definitely preferred the person dressed like a samurai that they used to have. It's a very popular tourist spot so expect crowds and a line to get tickets.
  • I went to Osaka castle because it's really walkable from my hotel. Before you enter the castle, you can walk around the gardens and it has certain flowers at the certain areas. I went to Osaka castle during the cherry blossoms season, I got so lucky because it was fully bloomed. You can walk around the cherry blossoms path just to enjoy the scenery. It depend on what part of the Osaka castle you go to because some areas sells street food and it's pretty delicious. There also a castle alike building where you can enjoy meals and shops. To go into the Osaka castle, it's not free but it's only about 6 dollars and it's has history of Osaka.
  • Great view of Osaka from the top. Very good area to view the cherry blossoms. Plenty of shops and places to eat nearby. Plan on a lot of walking and spending a lot of time here. The grounds are large and there is a lot to see. Definitely a top attraction in Osaka. If you visit during the cherry blossom season definitely go back at night for the light up of the trees.
  • OMG. This is super awesome to see in person! You can see the moat that surrounds Osaka Castle. Once you get in the court yard, it is all festivities, or at least the time I went there was. Musical performances, mini food trucks, food stands... The bathrooms are busy and one I used was squatter style. But hey, this trip to Japan, I made sure that I experienced the culture! Okay, a few bucks to get in, long line to get to the top... 2 floors are basically historical museums where you are not allowed to take pictures. Very cool history about the feudal times in Japan. (I love history an historic art). Once you get to the top, it is crowded. But you can see all 4 directions of Osaka. Of course, being a tourist, gotta go to the gift shop and buy Ninja and Samurai related items!
