Admire the multicolored blooms at Osaka's first public park, Nakanoshima Park. Opened in 1891, the park sits in the center of the city nestled between two rivers, the Dojima and Tosabori. Its giant rose garden displays 3,700 plants representing over 310 different types. Many public facilities surround the grounds including a public hall, ceramic museum, and library. Every year the park features a light display that attracts many visitors. Nakanoshima Park is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Osaka Edition.

  • The island of China is probably the most beautiful place in Osaka. The night view of the commercial building is very beautiful, and there are many old buildings, and there are not too many foreign viewers, the whole body to push this side

  • While Osaka is still better. Even in cultures only reinforced concrete yet noticeable Green is a better place. This is the Park comes to a halt whenever you come to Osaka.

  • Green is often right in the middle of the city, downtown, relaxing walks. Walking Osaka City Hall, Nakanoshima library, Auditorium and old buildings and more, well, just looking at it.

  • It is the most romantic place in Osaka! Especially in May, when roses are blooming, the park is soooooooo Beautiful. Recommended for the date, if u are single recommended for the taking pictures.
  • Very nice and pleasant park, but.... Restrooms are not clean. Instead in other cities of Japan the restrooms are always clean! Osaka city shall pay more attention to this aspect!
  • Great for walking, running, picnics, you name it. Usually clean, with clean western style toilets. Best when the rose garden is in bloom.
  • Great park, has a huge rose garden and when they are flowering it is very beautiful. A good place to relax with many locals having picnics.
  • Very pretty park. It's an island so it feels kind of secluded. Great place to sit and relax.

Where to stay in Osaka

The majority of Osaka's moderate and expensive accommodations concentrate in the districts of Umeda, Kyobashi, Namba, and Shin-Osaka. Base your stay in or near Minami neighborhood for proximity to a wide selection of shopping and dining options. For quick access to long-distance transportation to other cities and areas, look for hotels in Kita district. Many backpackers prefer the budget options in the Tennoji area, where the quality of rooms and prices vary wildly--call or check websites of specific establishments before you make reservations.
