Midosuji Street, Osaka

3.5
#3 of 8 in Neighborhoods in Osaka
The main street in Osaka, Midosuji Street serves as the heartbeat of the city. This 4 km (2.3 mi) long and 44 m (145 ft) wide, tree-lined boulevard offers classy shopping, chic cafes, top restaurants, department stores, five star hotels, and various recreation facilities. Three rows of ginkgo trees, which change colors over seasons, and 29 pieces by famous sculptors make this popular stroll enjoyable despite the city bustle. Dubbed the "Champs Elysees of the Orient," the well-lit street connects two major entertainment centers in the city and buzzes with people around the clock, attracting plenty of nighttime visitors. The street stretches from Namba to Umeda subway stations. Plan to visit Midosuji Street and other customer-reviewed, writer-recommended Osaka attractions using our Osaka online route planner .

  • The Midosuji is one of the most forgiving streets in Osaka, between Leighton and Shinsaibashi. Various shops crowded, there are various performances of the group in the street publicity. It's close to the subway, JR, and the airport. is a veritable city area, is a good place to stay. Downstairs is the bustling shops and restaurants, to the south five minutes is the transportation hub, between the airport and Kobe, Kyoto, Nara is very convenient. The night of Friday is more lively, the streets crowded with people, every restaurant is overcrowded, the river has a variety of performances, is the world of young people.

Where to stay in Osaka

The majority of Osaka's moderate and expensive accommodations concentrate in the districts of Umeda, Kyobashi, Namba, and Shin-Osaka. Base your stay in or near Minami neighborhood for proximity to a wide selection of shopping and dining options. For quick access to long-distance transportation to other cities and areas, look for hotels in Kita district. Many backpackers prefer the budget options in the Tennoji area, where the quality of rooms and prices vary wildly--call or check websites of specific establishments before you make reservations.
