  • This is the Osaka we see in travel photos. Considering it's predominantly a seafood market, it's clean and very orderly. They say it can get packed on weekends but even on a weekday afternoon there we...  more »

  • Lots of fresh seafood sell at a reasonable price! At this place you're able to get domestically plant fruits, souvenirs, seafood and grocery. Highly recommend tourist to go twice. Visit there on the first day and the last day of your trip will be the best. For the last day visit I will suggest tourists to buy their souvenirs and possibly a box of fruits or king crab to treat it family.💕🦀🐟🦐🐙
  • You must go here as early as possible to get the freshest of the freshest. At first we thought the prices are cheaper at late afternoon only to find out they're priced just the same. You get more value out of their seafood by coming early. Go in the morning!
  • Just in front of Exit 5 Nippombashi Station. Small market selling limited sea products. Some stalls even provide shell removal and eating on-the-spot service. Most product are eaten raw. But grilled sea products and sweet potatoes are also available. Fruits and vegetables are sold here.
  • One of the few thriving shopping arcades left in Osaka, this place serves tourist friendly products ranging from fresh fish to handcrafted wooden shoes. The only drawback is the masses of tourists, but thanks to them the area is now thriving.
  • Very nice market that is easy to get to from Namba (only one stop). Lots of fresh seafood, street food and Japanese snacks. Well worth the visit

Where to stay in Osaka

The majority of Osaka's moderate and expensive accommodations concentrate in the districts of Umeda, Kyobashi, Namba, and Shin-Osaka. Base your stay in or near Minami neighborhood for proximity to a wide selection of shopping and dining options. For quick access to long-distance transportation to other cities and areas, look for hotels in Kita district. Many backpackers prefer the budget options in the Tennoji area, where the quality of rooms and prices vary wildly--call or check websites of specific establishments before you make reservations.
