  • The observatory is on the 40th floor of the Umeda sky building. This was the reason why we had come here. The observatory gives 360 degree views of Osaka from the top of the city. There are two levels to the observatory, the lower indoor one and the higher outdoor one. The indoor observatory has quite a lot of seating scatter throughout the floor, mostly facing out into the city. The outdoor garden is more of a standing/walking observatory. I prefer the outdoor one as it was nice to get out in the open and have an unobstructed view of the city.
  • Walked in on a Sunday around 5:15pm, no line ahead of us. Maybe 30 people on deck when we got to the top. We left about an hour later and there was definitely a sizable line, as well as many more people on deck to watch sunset. Fantastic view of Osaka, totally worth the 1000¥ entrance fee. Tops 10 minute walk from Osaka train station (not Shin-Osaka... though with JR rail pass it was easy to hop on a local line to come in closer to the city.)
  • Nice view of Osaka city 360deg. Did not stay up for the sunset which is reportedly top notch. Took some nice panoramic photos.
  • Recommend coming here during the evening. Not much to see during day time
  • Tourist attractions near the station, to the top of the scenery is absolutely stunning, the view of Osaka. If in the evening time, sunset landscape more points.
