3.5/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web
Smell the unmistakable scents of kimchi and yakiniku as you stroll through the streets of Korea town, a neighborhood keeping Korean traditions alive in modern Japan. With its roots in the time when Korea was a Japanese colony, and its population growing greatly during Rhee's crackdown on South Korean rebels in the late 1940s, the neighborhood has long been home to immigrants from the Korean Peninsula. Stop off for some authentically Korean food, including barbecued meats and the ubiquitous dollop of kimchi, and admire the artistry and design of the traditional Korean features, including the large gate that marks the entrance to the neighborhood.
