  • A significant shopping mall with a large number of shops and a Ferris wheel on top. The Ferris wheel is accessible until 2200 and gives phenomenal views of the city. Two pink whales hang in the Atrium.
  • Great place for shopping. A lot of brand clothes and occasional sale offs. Come before or during Christmas to find a ton of sale offs among almost all stores
  • This place has style. Lots of options, higher end and cheaper. There is a ferris wheel on top to see the city, an arcade/ mini theme park to keep you entertained and plenty of restaurants to keep you fed. The suspended life-sized whale is also a wonder to behold. Well worth a visit if you are looking to do some clothes shopping in Osaka.
  • Great shopping area with lots of choice of shops under one roof. Not many bigger European brands here so great if you are looking for Japanese styles.
  • Big shopping mall with a Ferris wheel on top. Mostly clothing stores, popular with a young crowd. They also have a restaurant floor with decent, affordable restaurants. They have a gudetama restaurant which is sure to please fans. The upper floors are a nice game center. The Ferris wheel is pretty nice but supposedly bad luck for couples. Overall a pretty solid place for clothing shopping or entertainment. Nothing spectacular. Bonus: pretty much everybody knows this building so it's a good place to meet up with friends.

Where to stay in Osaka

The majority of Osaka's moderate and expensive accommodations concentrate in the districts of Umeda, Kyobashi, Namba, and Shin-Osaka. Base your stay in or near Minami neighborhood for proximity to a wide selection of shopping and dining options. For quick access to long-distance transportation to other cities and areas, look for hotels in Kita district. Many backpackers prefer the budget options in the Tennoji area, where the quality of rooms and prices vary wildly--call or check websites of specific establishments before you make reservations.
