  • It is fun to wander around in this area, which is distinguished by the parallel road which takes its name from the Canal Dotombori and which is the most festive of the city. Thousands of lights characterize the evening and neon signs are everywhere to report hundreds of bars and restaurants, lively and festive atmosphere theatres coffins. Has always been over the centuries, starting from the 17th century, the area of the city saw that even the master of Osaka Castle to give him this name. We saw the most famous teaches how the athlete of Kani Doraku giant crab restaurant and Glico that moves the claws. There is no doubt that for food this way is the real mecca. You can try all the dishes of Japanese cuisine and especially the Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki (Octopus dumplings), Udon and no sushi in great selection of premises for each price facsia. We have tried several rooms and were always pleased find enclosed some pictures I remember our visit If this review did you like, you can read about my many other out of Osaka, Japan, Hiroshima and Miyajima and a I'm glad a click on: is it useful?

  • Upon arriving the Dotonbori you will be sure that you're in Osaka: lights, restaurants and a lot of people. Shop, eat and have fun, taking a picture beside the Glico man. I recommend a piece.

  • OMG. What an exciting place. Shopping center, food capital, tourist spots and people and good products every where. You can see here Hello Kitty Gallery, Okonomiyaki restaurants, Glico and Crab iconic osaka icons!
  • One must come here, if one visits Osaka. It's an area covering 3-4 adjacent streets that holds hundreds if not thousands of shops, many being restaurants. To get here, just take the subway to Namba station. A few exits come up very near Dotonburi. If you see the restaurant with the giant red snow crab model up front, you have found Dotonburi! It is recommended to come in the later part of the evening just as the sun goes down, because that is when the lights come on and the crowd starts to build. There are so many good restaurants along the main Dotonburi road. You can also head to the river side and get a river cruise down the river. Amazing place, very happening. Must come if in Osaka.
  • pretty touristy (i.e. you'll pay maybe a 20% premium vs if you went to a local place) BUT, seeing as we're tourists, that's ok. good place to find takoyaki and grilled octopus. if you come at night, the neon really lights up.
  • Located right in the center of Osaka. This is a must see for anyone coming to town to "kuidaore" (Ruin oneself with food) as this is jam packed with famous, cheap eateries specializing in local delicacies like Takoyaki and Fugu.
  • My fav spot in Osaka. Alot things to see, eat and do here. 1. Donquihote-shop till you drop 24hours 2. Okanomiyaki &beer- (will update the name of restaurant. need to check) 3. Takoyaki-corner shop further down from Donquihote (but super lond queue, waited for 1.5hours) 4. People watching....yes, it's vry interesting because the guys look exactly like in the manga
