  • This temple was beautiful. This place was one of the stops that I made while i was biking. The hill of hope was absolutely stunning. And the cave with 1000 Buddhas was just amazing. Definitely a must ...  more »
  • What a gem of a place! I knew it would be amazing before visiting it but I had no idea just how mind-blowing the real experience would be. It's not so much the main temple itself which was under renov...  more »
  • the Hill of Hope was worth our 2 hours from Hiroshima cause it's so unique from other temples in Japan. you'd need to take the ferry crossing the the island and walk (about 10 mins) and climb to the h...  more »

  • What it lacks in history (and perhaps authenticity, given that it's a businessman's pet project) it makes up for in its variety and aesthetic. Beautiful views, grand architecture (the underground "hells" especially) and modern detail make it well worth a visit. Especially recommended if you've been around Japan and feel like you never need to see another temple - this one is something a bit different.
  • Beautiful and full of different things to see. The asking price is steep but well worth it!
  • Kinda expensive to get in, but the old house to the left after you enter (and possibly up the first set of stairs) is worth the tour. The guides have an English version of facts and are very friendly. Also, be sure to go to the very, very top. You'll see an elevator somewhere. You can use the stairs or the lift. Follow the path to the top and there's a garden of marble and at the very top, it's a marble mountain land. Worth checking out!
  • Very nice. Take the cycle route and have an amazing weekend.
  • First of all for the parking lot. Ikuo Hirayama Museum next to the large free car park. It is also 停menakute in the paid parking around here 10 minutes closer. Hotel, a member of the JAF I listen discount. You are quite broad. East of sunlight Tosho-gu shrine, Kozo-ji Temple in the West is really is intact. Made of white rocks and go back to future appearing heart hills, might expect too much of some are too overwhelmed to. Rises to the top and around the sea and mountain views, is a very good place. Also wheelchair doesn't matter because there is an elevator. White is too, so go in the summer and is quite painful. Go back to 'hell'. Be scary to children as adults may be seriously looking at and thinking my way of life. Cool do to, so is recommended in summer.
