  • This museum was a pleasant surprise and I consider it a gem. Dedicated to the painter and poet, a native of Okayama, Yumeji Takehisa (1884-1934), which symbolized the love story of the Taisho period, famous for his pictures of beautiful women: the melancholy bijinga. Most of his work is exhibited in rotation in the Museum in Tokyo, always dedicated to him; in Tokyo it was instead exposed a small portion between paintings, prints and screens. Recommend to visit after going to Koraku-en that is distant. Open every day except Monday from 9 to 17, admission 700 Yen.

  • Takehisa yumeji Museum are scattered across the country, but based on "Furusato" and that of the Museum of fine arts here. Setouchi, Okayama city next to and working as a branch of the Museum is the birthplace. There are some impressive work, but particularly memorable "立田川". "Woman in my 1 life bundle total. I'm Miss Nippon "and said the two. Photographs were but two interesting pictures of women. To face can be seen somewhere in any photograph I saw for the first time. I wonder if the rosy dream II painting consists. The foot bridge near the parking lot of the Korakuen garden.

  • Nice exhibits but explanations are all in Japanese. I feel that I could appreciate the art more if I understood the context better.
  • Beautiful works of art, rich historical value.
  • It is recommended to those who love dream 2. Poster painting of that era like those staying.

Where to stay in Okayama

As a busy transit area, Okayama offers many places to stay, with most of them in the mid-range category and a few catering to luxury-conscious tourists. Large numbers of modern mid-range hotels and budget accommodations are located to the west of the railway station, in the neighborhoods of Ekimaecho and Honmachi heading towards the Asahi River. There are many capsule hotels around the station, and some nearby internet cafes also offer budget overnight stays. Traditional "ryokan" (guesthouses) and youth hostels cluster around nearby Kurashiki.
