Okayama Castle, Okayama

Categories: Castles, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
3.2/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web
Admire the striking black facade of Okayama Castle, also known as “Crow Castle.” Built in 1597, the castle’s main tower was destroyed in the 1945 allied bombing and had to be reconstructed, while two watch towers survived the war. Enjoy the view from the castle grounds, nestled on a small hilltop overlooking the Asahi River, and see the fish-shaped gargoyles on the roof of the main tower, gilded during the celebration of the castle’s 400th anniversary. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Okayama holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Okayama Castle and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • I visited for the first time. Adjacent to the Korakuen garden. Common tickets and about 2 percent discount. From the dark atmosphere of the unique nickname of Tottori Castle is. Is the view from the Tower exhibitions in its own way. There were several valuable historical exhibits. There are also screenings of the VTR.

  • Speaking of Okayama Prefecture, Okayama Castle and the Korakuen garden is representative. From Okayama Castle Okayama city is best. And the Korakuen garden, connected across the River, is very useful.

  • 岡山後樂園是日本三大名園之一,到岡山旅遊是一定要列入的地方。園區很大,到處都是美景,人流不多,可以靜靜地欣賞這個美麗的日式庭園。
  • The exterior of Okayama castle appears to be very bright and shinning, somewhat luminous when one looks at it from far. The korakuen Gardens is located right next to the castle. This garden is really awesome.
  • Nice reconstructed castle that's a short climb up from the riverbank. However it's hard to consider it seriously when Himeji's is so close by.
  • Worth a visit but feels more like a castle shaped museum.
  • It was really nice and cheap but there wasn't so much stuff with english translations. You can pay the Okayama Garden and Castle at the same time. The castle it's really big from there walls to the top of the building and inside you can do some activities and buy some souvenirs. The castle have an elevator for old people or who needs it. Once you finished with the castle you can go to the gardens.
  • there is some table tennis in front of castle, you can borrow the racquets and ball to play for free, awesome.
