  • Train station parking lot is flat day staff free of charge. More spare time lined everything room I think to kill but is considerably more compact than Hawaii's Ala Moana. Entire restaurant out, can be satisfied at a reasonable level.

  • Will arrive in 5 minutes on foot from stop Shinkansen Okayama station. I think because there are a lot of souvenirs, drop by while you're traveling.

  • Big city mall with a lot of shops, restaurants, playing areas and a cinema. Its often very crowded but it is worth to pay a visit. Parking is available in the mall, if you buy sonething then the ticket for the parking is reduced by the amount of the purchases you make in the mall. Good idea to avoid having the parking and the mall full of people just wandering around.
  • I was looking for fresh vegetables ( giant carrots!) in preparation for our expedition to Okunoshima ( Rabbit Island) and we found tons of fresh food also for us!
  • Your regular Aeon mall. Having lived in the vicinity, I often visited as this place had the only supermarket around. Fashion is very Japanese with little diversity, but then again it is Okayama.
  • One of the largest Aeon Malls in the country. Lots of shops in addition to restaurants and an outdoor courtyard on the roof.
  • Great place to spend half day shopping and eating. Superb location just a few minute walk from Okayama station.

Where to stay in Okayama

As a busy transit area, Okayama offers many places to stay, with most of them in the mid-range category and a few catering to luxury-conscious tourists. Large numbers of modern mid-range hotels and budget accommodations are located to the west of the railway station, in the neighborhoods of Ekimaecho and Honmachi heading towards the Asahi River. There are many capsule hotels around the station, and some nearby internet cafes also offer budget overnight stays. Traditional "ryokan" (guesthouses) and youth hostels cluster around nearby Kurashiki.
