  • We reached the hotel having phoned, the master Tetsuhiro Hokama was very willing to accommodate our needs. Upon our arrival was taking a lesson with students from the USA. They walked in the "Museum" and did see a part of the lesson. This is not a classical Museum but rather a mix between a gym and an old House, with photos, memorabilia, tools and explanations on the history of karate, particularly of Okinawan karate. Out of all-pervading a magical atmosphere. If you are fans of this sport, this visit is a must!! Look at the many videos on youtube of master Hokama, arguably the greatest living master and you will understand what we are talking about!!

  • The Museum is located slightly outside naha but is easily accessible by bus from Shuri monorail terminus. pending the opening of a public Museum of karate, scheduled for March 2017, is the only museum about martial arts. The price of admission is 300 yen and the owner of the Museum is a master of karate as well as being an expert calligrapher. We recommend a visit.
