Yutaki Waterfall, Nikko

(4.5/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Draining Lake Yuno by Yumoto Onsen, Yutaki Waterfall makes an impressive fan-shaped cascade, 70 m (229 ft) high and 110 m (360 ft) wide. A secure observation deck at the foot of the falls gives you a chance to feel the force of nature and get close to the roaring sound of tumbling water, with the sulfur-rich spray supposedly beneficial for your skin. You can also view the falls from the top. Take the 4.7 km (3 mi) hike from Senjogahara, which leads you past many streams, fallen trees, and meadows, or drive and park nearby. • We visited yutaki fall during our stay in nikko. You can see the fall from 2 different locations- one from the bottom where they have observation deck - good place to take picture and from the top of ...  more »
  • I stopped by during the week in the off season. Do not plow the downhill to the falls, there was signs of attention there might climb on the way back. Hesitate too much snow depth, and turned back. I think the fall foliage season, surely such views.

  • It's worth going here and viewing these both from the top and the bottom. The falls are set against a beautiful backdrop, and the unusual angle of the fall adds to the intrigue. An easy walk up to the...  more »
