Part of the Shrines and Temples of Nikko World Heritage Site, Taiyuimbyo Shrine houses the mausoleum of Tokugawa Iemitsu, a 17th-century shogun famous for helping Japan resist European colonial influences. Administered by Rinno-ji Temple, the shrine is one of the Three Golden Temples of Japan, and features a mixture of Shinto and Buddhist influences. Gold and black with red framing, a number of exquisitely built and decorated rooms have designated as national treasures, with large ceiling paintings of dragons adding to their mystique. Statues of Deva kings guard the compound, with stone lamps placed around the entire complex. The mausoleum sits 30-40 minutes by foot from Tobu and Nikko stations.     Is sunlight a few cars are coming for the first time here. Clear and cold and calm. Great environment. Ieyasu's steadfast presence with the Tokugawa Iemitsu for feel all over the place. Opportunity to make history once again learned. After all, politicians.

    Tokyo is at least three hours one way. Since you must be already fan of Japanese culture, to invest a whole day for this trip. In the middle of the nature too gel ICH several shrines, decorated one magnificent than the others. (For Japan and its simple natural wood construction a rarity). As with all shrines in Japan, the Interior of the temple may not be photographed. But the colorfully decorated outer walls has to do enough anyway, to capture it all on chip.
