Irohazaka Route, Nikko

3.6
#17 of 123 in Things to do in Nikko
Travel the spectacular and winding ribbon of Irohazaka Route, which carves its snaking path up and down the mountainous landscape. With a total of 48 hairpins, it's not a drive for the faint of heart--but if you enjoy a bit of a challenge, you'll witness spectacular views across the valley, with observational points along the way. Scenic any time of year, the hills prove particularly memorable from October to early November, as the surrounding trees take on rusty tones. Anyway, time and traffic congestion is terrible. Fall foliage season, advance into the toilet, drink liquids... lol Let's slowly run the rest of the year. Very often you want me driving skills? Looking around is fueling a car seen is quite full of interest. It is what you want while enjoying the scenery and driving. Only here, slowly driving side-friendly... hurry at night or early in the morning and I came back. Good chance in the downhill in the monkey meet, please don't bait is. With that.

Old Showa era can be glimpsed on the slopes of the masonry on the slope in the middle is. At that time as a highway toll road of Oku Nikko tourist people luck got Navigator, it was crowded with tourists from that time to enjoy hot springs as well as. Widening at the confluence of the second first place is like a toll trail.
