Yakushiji Temple, Nara
(3.9/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
See one of Japan's oldest and most storied Buddhist temples at Yakushiji Temple, part of the World Heritage Site of historical monuments in ancient Nara. The Yakushi Nyorai, known as the Medicine Buddha, is the main object of veneration, and represents one of the first Buddhist deities to arrive in the country from China. Established in 680 CE, the temple complex has seen destruction by fires throughout the ages, although its original towering pagoda, completed in 730, remains standing--the object of much admiration for its design and artistry. • Yakushi-JI visited nearly 30 years Buri since junior high school trip. Since my last visit at the tower had just felt really fresh, brand new shade discomfort compared to the East Tower is, but was familiar with surrounding buildings considerably over the years, everything was fantastic. But unfortunately you couldn't watch repair in East Tower. Yakushi is located here in the main hall as a national treasure, and many splendid Buddhist statues. It is one of the unbearable temples like the Buddha.

  • The Yakushi-ji Temple is split into two parts with a small road in between, such is its size. It is made up of quite a number of buildings including pagodas, halls, and an old learning centre. There is debate about exactly when it was built but it was either in the seventh of eighth century. Only one of the buildings – the East Pagoda – is completely original. The others have been reconstructed after being damaged or destroyed by fire. Yakushi-ji is considered to be one of the most famous imperial temples in the whole country.

  • It is the place to go to watch than hear a lot, actually. Environment precautions and signboard is not printing, pen perhaps smoke from Mexico, will be written in the writing brush, but it is a good hand, but note it is I lost in the beauty of the characters. Beauty lies in detail, that he stick to the Institute would be part of a practice, people usually overlook is the great temple. This temple was new track around the famous Nara, such as scented ink handwritten notices. If you want good opportunity feels hefty admission fee ¥ 1,500, 御布施, Tak to load.
