  • The great Buddha Hall located near the high ground on the East side, get the mukaiyama hachimangu shrine. That that was"dirty water" in the second lunar February is known as the temple. 8th century Buddhist temple built in the current building's was rebuilt in 1669 (living national treasure). Reminiscent of Kiyomizu-dera Temple pillars was built on sloping land, assembled on the floor. You cannot see fully qualified Japanese for the principal object of worship is juichimen Kannon statues of 2. You can on a hill and overlooking the city of Nara over the roof of the great Buddha.

  • Went to Todai-ji Temple, I'll visit the temple February. Around behind the large Buddha, to the shōsōin. Next February to the temple. Dissatisfied that only from the outside.

  • It is recommended that should go up one way 10 minutes uphill from the great Buddha Hall, located on the heights of the lowest depths of the Todai-ji Temple precincts, so take time to be prepared, visit. Many of the tourists to visit only the great Buddha, going to move to the following destinations. February Hall, the stage and the views of the Nara Basin. Buddha, Kannon is absolute and is treated as not published. It is a fortune, but fortune here, leave the little reputation. Also had the misfortune to avoid shock.

  • A short walk from Todaiji. Enjoy e great views from e top of this place. There’s a place for free hot tea, actually we went inside to hide from e cold ~~ A must visit place if u come to Nara ~~
  • A beautiful temple with one of the best views I have seen in Japan. Together with the surrounding Nara Park this is an amazing temple to visit.
  • Beautiful gem tucked away next to todaiji. Great view of Nara. I wish we could have been there to see the sun set.
  • If you are visiting the main hall of the Todaiji Temple, then you should give yourself some time to come to Nigatsu-do too. A bit of a climb but certainly worth it. Good scenery. Has a nice resting room at the top. Free warm or cold water and even brown rice tea. Self-service. Wash your own cups. It is clean (It is Japan, don't worry). Free entry (accessible even if you did not pay for Todaiji Temple entry).
  • A visit here is a must. Beautiful views across the park and surrounding temples. One of the most atmosphere temples to visit. Free entry with a cute rest house close by.

Where to stay in Nara

The historic city of Nara has a welcome number of accommodations for an urban area of its importance and popularity. Close to the main train station stand the main high-rise hotels in the city, all towering over the commercial and modern district that greets train travelers on arrival. To the east, things get a little more luxurious, with hotels close to Nara Park particularly well-appointed and rich in additional facilities. Standard hotels stand in a cluster to the southeast of the old palace ruins, while a number of pleasant, no-frills guesthouses can be found in the residential suburbs.
