Historic Site Landmark
Step back in time at Heijokyu Ruins, an ancient Japanese capital from the Nara period and the first historical attraction in Japan declared a World Heritage Site. In 710, the capital, modeled on the capital of Chinese Tang Dynasty, was established around present-day Nara. Covered by rice fields for centuries, the settlement was rediscovered in the late 1990s. The palace, once the center of the city, houses the imperial residence, the hall for national ceremonies, and bureaucratic offices. The site also features two gates, a history museum, and an exhibit hall with thousands of archaeological items on display. • This is the former site of heijo-Kyo Palace is famous. Daigokuden and Suzaku gate has been restored now. Recalling the splendor at that time in the extensive grounds. Kintetsu runs in the premises of the charm? I am looking forward to future restoration.

  • I arrived close to the building to see ended, just walking through the sprawling grounds. Still imagine the old capital rants and enjoyed. There were a lot of people jogging or walk the dog. Because the remains or traces of the old city pillar will help image.

  • So local is as walking trails. Broad land, North and South, respectively Suzaku gate and the Palace of the West Museum, East East Garden and substantial steps. 1 3 to 4 km long!? Kintetsu Yamato West University would have hurried away from the temple, so walking shoes are necessary. Recently organized little by little, (never used) ready, too, resting, but also sit less. Looks good appearance are complaining that tourists came to know (laughs). Temple on the north side with keyhole-shaped Kofun group, around the saidai-ji Temple, Lotus Temple, Sea Dragon King temple, national treasure, and this would do great sides alone.

The historic city of Nara has a welcome number of accommodations for an urban area of its importance and popularity. Close to the main train station stand the main high-rise hotels in the city, all towering over the commercial and modern district that greets train travelers on arrival. To the east, things get a little more luxurious, with hotels close to Nara Park particularly well-appointed and rich in additional facilities. Standard hotels stand in a cluster to the southeast of the old palace ruins, while a number of pleasant, no-frills guesthouses can be found in the residential suburbs.
