Valley of Gangala, Nanjo

#2 of 13 in Parks in Nanjo
Walk down a mystical route at Valley of Gangala, a valley formed after the collapse of a limestone cave. The forested valley has inspired a number of myths and folk tales, and legend has it that spirits dwell in this secluded area. Tall trees and bamboo grow out from the foot of the valley to join the forest above, with the dramatic rock formations of the valley walls blending with the foliage to create impressive scenery. A limestone cave offers another layer of mystery and magic (and a cafe) to your adventure. • As a result, funeral mitake is good. To those who plan to visit either my mouth to ask reference. Book a room and visited the 2千 several hundred yen per person entrance fee is required. Natural and artificial mix of facilities, located in your mouth about potential commercial-like, was private, and it doesn't matter much. 1 Division of the adjacent Okinawa world have, not.

  • It was a tour could explore with the guides, the historic site was the ancient limestone caves and plants of Okinawa residents. Collapsed cave trail walks the course has become a guide, it's go stroll listening to fun explanation, so you can carefully, such as photography and vegetation. It is mandatory, the shoes are equipped with pedestrian walks, nature walk, so it fits. It is nice café within the cave's entrance. Are better off not in the toilet, so go in the parking lot. Furthermore, every end of the tour, leaving during the Okinawa world.

  • Personal and informative tour of the historic valley and interesting background. ¥2,200 per person. Complimentary cold ice tea is furnished for each person in bottle with strap along with mosquito repellant lotion. Audio tour isn't reliable. English isn't available from tour guide only Japanese. Still very hot and humid even during 930 am tour.
  • 90min tour. Japanese guide and multilanguage info text. Very beautiful scene!
  • Book a tour spot at least a day in advance, since there are only four groups per day! The cafe itself is a nice spot, but I wasn't able to check out anything else.
  • Interesting open cave. Enjoy meals and drinks inside it. There is a tour that takes you further inside the cave
  • I hope that you will be able to see the nature that has a primitive life history site fully preserved.

Where to stay in Nanjo

Like in most cities in Okinawa, Nanjo offers a contrast of basic lodgings and expensive, fancy resorts. Hotels tend follow the coastline south and east of Nanjo, with luxurious options perched on the hilltop above the city offering views of Nakagusuku Bay. Bed & breakfast-type pensions are the most common mid-range options, but you can also find inexpensive "ryokan" (traditional guesthouses) close to the beach. Inexpensive guesthouses can be found on Ojima Island, just off the coast and accessible via bridge.
