Nirai Bridge/Kanai Bridge, Nanjo

3.6
Enjoy sweeping views of the vast Pacific blue from Nirai Bridge/Kanai Bridge. A popular tourist spot, these two bridges standing at 80 m (262 ft) at 180 degrees from each other serve as the main gateway along the coast of Nanjo prefecture. You can see Kudaka Island in the distance on the scenic drive. Be prepared to be dazzled by the view, but keep your wits about you, as the road has a reputation for car crashes. You can’t pull over on the bridge, but you can make use of the small parking spot at the beginning of the structure. Take a look at our Nanjo day trip planning website to schedule your visit to Nirai Bridge/Kanai Bridge and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • Chinen Cape niraikanai bridges that are often introduced as a scenic drive, from. Or of niraikanai and means "beyond the far East paradise" in Okinawa. Of the Western pure land in Buddhism? Kudaka island from which curves greatly bridge the chinen Cape, floating in the beautiful cobalt blue sea, and the sea can be seen. Can't see the landscape is driving the car and it's fantastic. Parked cars, scenic climb up onto the tunnel take the bridge it is recommended. You can enjoy the panorama of the bridge and the sea evacuation area of the car park and walk around a little bit and worked perfectly. Car evacuation space is not so wide not long time parking can burn eyes inspiring landscape firmly enough. Niraikanai bridge walk by the way, cross the more views you can see out to. You know well and certainly have a trail along the road. Have time take a look at!

Where to stay in Nanjo

Like in most cities in Okinawa, Nanjo offers a contrast of basic lodgings and expensive, fancy resorts. Hotels tend follow the coastline south and east of Nanjo, with luxurious options perched on the hilltop above the city offering views of Nakagusuku Bay. Bed & breakfast-type pensions are the most common mid-range options, but you can also find inexpensive "ryokan" (traditional guesthouses) close to the beach. Inexpensive guesthouses can be found on Ojima Island, just off the coast and accessible via bridge.
