Shrikinjocho Stone-Path Road, Naha
(4.1/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
A winding cobbled lane flanking the south side of Shuri Castle, Shrikinjocho Stone-Path Road once represented a major thoroughfare frequented by high-ranking samurai. Constructed during the 16th century to link Shuri with the Naha port and southern side of Okinawa, the path was originally 10 km (6.2 mi) long. Today, only 300 m (984.2 ft) of this historic route remains. Tread carefully along uneven ground, past 300-year-old akagi tree groves. At the base of the slope, take a break at the open-air rest house, where you can relax on tatami mats and listen to the soothing sounds of the nearby spring. • I forgot the history of this place but it is quite picturesque! It actually reminded me more of a Korean pathway instead of a Japanese one.
  • We visited because it was in the half-day course of a tourist bus. I think it kinda hard to go and there is no advance information. I think pitching is uphill and hard to walk a little, so walking shoes. Atmosphere are paved everywhere. Chura et al, it's or House that became the model of the House (not available). It is good when walking.
