Fukushu-en Garden, Naha
(3.8/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Forget that you are in Okinawa’s capital at Fukushu-en Garden, an authentic, walled Chinese garden laid out by Chinese and Okinawan gardeners to commemorate cultural and trade links with the Chinese mainland. The garden features two pagodas overlooking carp ponds with many turtles, key-hole gates, and a man-made waterfall, all divided into four sections dedicated to each season of the year, with many pavilions and bridges. You can feed the fish or just sit around and relax, forgetting that you're still in the city. Located in the part of central Naha which was once the main cultural and trade area for the Chinese, the garden sits just 10 minutes walk from Kencho-mae monorail station. Our Naha vacation planner makes visiting Fukushu-en Garden and other Naha attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • We walked around the city with the intention of arriving to a place we wanted to visit, when we saw that we were at the entrance to Fukushuen Park and decided to enter and that the chance we had brought to the door, was a very wise decision. At the ticket office staffed by a very nice lady, details liked that they offered anti-mosquito lotion free and let you typical umbrellas to protect you from the Sun during the ride or umbrella in the course of that rain. Surprisingly had an explanatory brochure of the Park in Spanish, one of the few places at which we find explanations in our language. When we started to walk, more descubriamos more it liked and the culmination was the cave with waterfalls and different corridors and interior stairways. There were very few people visiting it so our visit was virtually in solitary. I loved them flowers, the pavilions, the pond, the plants and all them small corners designed with a taste exquisite. On our tour we are a very friendly employees who made us some pictures and explained to us the interesting history of the place. The Park is divided into landscapes that make reference to the stations.
