Tokugawa Garden, Nagoya
(4.1/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
Wander around Tokugawa Garden, an elegant Japanese landscape full of history and serenity. The garden's origins date back to the Edo period; today it embodies the modern samurai culture. Walk through the original wooden black gate, which survived the destruction of World War II. Follow the stream from a majestic waterfall that flows to the central pond. As you explore, look for peonies, Japanese apricots, irises, maples, and camellias, depending on the season. Stop by the restaurant for some fine dining. • An amazing Japanese garden, really purely cultural and so relaxing. The fishpond has huge fishes and it was amazing just to sit at the side of the pond watching them approaching me for some food.
  • Vaguely said that fake sense of Las Vegas, the leading to the Nagoya Castle honmaru Palace or placing stone excavated from the site of Waseda University in Tokyo upon recovery is famous in history, and to watch carefully while, even where facilities recently got that feeling is in the air.

  • A paradisiac garden realized by the powerful Tokugawa clan. The plants are so grown that it seems to be in a sort of pluvial forest, so green! A big pond with Koi carps and a big variety of flowers everywhere. There is also a tea house nowadays used as restaurant for ceremonies like weddings. Amazing shop full of traditional souvenirs with Tokugawa "logo" on them.
  • The children love feeding the fish
