Oasis 21, Nagoya

3.7
#2 of 22 in Shopping in Nagoya
Shopping Mall Shopping
Explore the shopping and dining options at Oasis 21, a retail center and public space. The visually compelling landmark boasts a slightly mystifying, but visually impressive, "water spaceship" roof, vibrantly lit in the evening. This accessible glass roof has a shallow pool of water on it, which casts surreal patterns on the ground and manicured lawns below, making a picturesque picnic location. The site also features a modern bus terminal. Put Oasis 21 and other Nagoya attractions into our Nagoya tourist route planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • It is a quietly pleasing and friends who came to Nagoya to take place. I feel floating pool and on the other is not. This is the place looks closer to TV tower to climb and can be a magical experience, and I feel like they have.

  • I love the place both day and night! It is just super clean up there and it lights up beautifully at night!!! Local people do come and hang out. They enjoy tye nice view and fresh air!!! Plus, there are many good restaurants downstairs! Another thing is the local government always have some kind of event almost every weekend! love it!!!
  • The place itself is beautiful as well as the city view it offers from the very top. You will also be able to see the park below, where some people just like to lay down or have a sort of picnic under the sun. Shooting 360° photos and videos are fun here too!
  • Great spot to visit! Such a unique design, plenty of shops and places to eat too. Great view of Nagoya TV Tower!
  • The small stores with more traditional or handmade goods have been mostly replaced by chains. I used to go here for gift shopping and was able to find unique things. No longer. It is a good meeting place with many food options.
  • I came here on a sunday and felt soooo good. It was not crowded at all. The environment was beautiful and relaxing. It's easily accessible by subway. You could go to the roof floor where there was a large pond of shallow water and the lookout view was spectacular. There was a underground shopping beneath. One could readily spend a whole day there and still enjoy the relaxing and spectacular ambience. A must-go if you happen to be in Nagoya.

Where to stay in Nagoya

The central district, just south from the castle and its gardens, houses the bulk of accommodations in Nagoya. You'll find a good range of standard hotels, with onsite restaurants, simple rooms, and perhaps a pool in this area. Look slightly to the west, or closer to the castle,to find more luxurious accommodations. Across the surrounding residential areas, take a look close to the metro stations to find some of the most conveniently located, but budget-friendly hostels and guesthouses.
