Midland Square, Nagoya

3.8
#4 of 24 in Shopping in Nagoya
Marvel at impressive views of Nagoya, both in daylight and after dark, at Midland Square, the tallest skyscraper in Nagoya and the fifth tallest in Japan. The building boasts the highest open-air observation deck in the country, "Sky Promenade," on its 47th floor. Officially named the Toyota-Mainichi building, this structure, erected in a busy downtown district, features a shopping center with 60 brand-name stores selling luxury goods. You can also admire the latest models of Toyota vehicles, as well as vintage models, displayed in the spacious interior. Double-floored elevators propel you to the top floor in only 40 seconds, or you can get off at the 41st floor to grab a meal at one of restaurants. Directly opposite the station "tojtovskij" skyscraper, 46-floor which is the highest observation deck in Nagoya. Open from 11:00 to 21:30. From the main hall accessible by lift to the 42-floor, there buy in jackpot ticket for 750 yen and with him on the observation deck. The people of the small, glass cleaner, and top-sky.

Nagoya Station to pick us up view corridors from the 44th floor of a 46-storey building, the Midland on the 46th floor panoramic night view of Nagoya City, sky promenade. A full glass, rain, wind and bad weather, not coming in Observatory.

Stopped by to go to the Toyota showroom, wanted killed time at Nagoya Station. Unlike open spaces so the latest vehicle, dealer, feel free to watch. New Prius to see at close, was happy.

This place is the fanciest place to shop in Nagoya but is crazy expensive. If you can actually afford it, this place is a really cool area to check out. They have several shops that are unique to the area and have staff that are willing to help if you have the money to shop.

An awesome neighbourhood which is teeming with tall buildings. A square at the commercial area and the hubbub of Nagoya. Can be busy and overcrowded.

Fantastic place. Expensive stores. Restaurants are good. Movie theater was great. All around nice place and near Nagoya station which is convenient.

Kinda awesome place for many things. Food, shopping, tickets, etc.

Upscale and posh. Slightly more genteel than the surrounding malls, and a good place for some more tranquil moments.

Where to stay in Nagoya

The central district, just south from the castle and its gardens, houses the bulk of accommodations in Nagoya. You'll find a good range of standard hotels, with onsite restaurants, simple rooms, and perhaps a pool in this area. Look slightly to the west, or closer to the castle,to find more luxurious accommodations. Across the surrounding residential areas, take a look close to the metro stations to find some of the most conveniently located, but budget-friendly hostels and guesthouses.
