Hisaya Odori Park, Nagoya

3.5
#6 of 26 in Parks in Nagoya
Enjoy watching carp and ducks in Sakae river from Hisaya Odori Park, a green belt running through the main Hisaya Odori Street. This strip of urban greenery in central Nagoya hosts a great deal of social and cultural activities year-round, and the street it runs through is so wide that it has been dubbed “the 100 m (330 ft) road.” The park features the city's TV tower in its center, as well as a prominent bridge and several small waterfalls. A fountain clock shows the time in Los Angeles, a sister city, while the park also features a flower clock, an artificial river, and three plazas holding various events. You can watch performances by singers and dancers throughout the day. To visit Hisaya Odori Park and other attractions in Nagoya, use our Nagoya online road trip planner .

Where to stay in Nagoya

The central district, just south from the castle and its gardens, houses the bulk of accommodations in Nagoya. You'll find a good range of standard hotels, with onsite restaurants, simple rooms, and perhaps a pool in this area. Look slightly to the west, or closer to the castle,to find more luxurious accommodations. Across the surrounding residential areas, take a look close to the metro stations to find some of the most conveniently located, but budget-friendly hostels and guesthouses.
