Nagasaki Penguin Aquarium, Nagasaki

4.3
#1 of 6 in Zoos & Aquariums in Nagasaki Prefecture
Nagasaki Penguin Aquarium offers a glimpse at nine different penguin types, including rare species. Meet the large, gentle king penguin, as well as the little penguin--the smallest penguin species in the world. The aquarium lets you get up close to these lovable creatures, and children can delight in feeding and petting them. Row a kayak in the nature zone--an outdoor part of the compound--and then explore the biotope environment. Other than penguins, the aquarium also holds fish. • You can see lots of penguins at the. It takes 30 minutes by bus from Nagasaki station. Depart from the bus stop is a little walk to the Aquarium entrance mouth. Since the day we went there enjoy the good weather went quickly. In the in-house broadcasting bought the ticket in the ticket and admission to events guide. Pen went to see rush at the Penguin dinner. It is easy to navigate so crowded during the week. Come near looking described her sister as Penn is Gin they come trooping. Where you end up with different events. I never get tired in that sense. Is fun because I like Penguin is still less than two hours stay. Maybe nothing will come in our relationship. Not seen in the other. It is narrow and small souvenir shop, and eat. Out of the park like, but... Keep this in mind.

  • There was plenty of English script, a gorgeous display of Japanese and open water fish, plus friendly+helpful staff. For a small fee (¥100, I think) you can help the staff to feed the Humboldt penguins! The enterance fee is very reasonable (¥510 for an adult) and the animals are very well cared for. There's lots for kids of all ages to enjoy, including those young at heart!
  • Large number of penguins of all varieties. Lots of written information, if one is interested. You can also see the penguins being fed and walked to the sea, where they get some "free time" to play. Other Marine life, as well. Good for all ages (our kids are 15 and 18 and enjoyed).
  • Kid friendliest place in Nagasaki city. Good place to while an hour or so away while the kids enjoy the different species of penguins in this aquarium. There are in house penguiuns, and another outdoor meet and greet style where you can see them up close at the beach. As usual, there is a cutey gift shop and cafe where they serve penguin shaped doriyaki. 2 large carparks for your parking needs.
  • It was an interesting experience! Well worth the price of 500 yen. We went on a typhoon day so the feeding experience was not avaliable that day. It was cool to be able to see the penguins withing touching distances which is a first for me! Would highly recommend going at feeding times as you will be able to get to view the cute birds up close and personal!
  • Notable collection of penguins, both cold-weather and temperate penguins. Lovely area with penguins living in the bay. Don't miss feeding time when they broadcast feed and have penguins walk alongside you on the beach. Large number of King penguins with glass enclosure where you can get close and have a great look at them. Everything is CASH ONLY. Tickets, food, everything. Bring cash!!
