Enjoy panoramic views over Nagasaki at Kazagashira Park, a green spot overlooking the harbor with its long suspension bridge. Quiet and attractive, the park features good observation decks. Around 35 minutes walk from the nearest station, the tricky-to-find park rewards your persistence by providing an excellent lookout over the surrounding area. Find the statue of legendary warrior Sakamoto Ryoma with his arms crossed; it stands on peak of the park’s steep hill.
There was no parking lot, so We went to the nearest station by tram and went up the stairs. Great regret on the way. I think you should go by bus or taxi if the time is right. The view was great. It was hard to go back to the school.View original -
more »
Located in Mt. Futo overlooking Nagasaki Bay, it is a park that is popular among citizens as a famous spot for Nagasaki Hata-age. It is also a famous spot for flowers in each of the four seasons. A statue of the hero of the end of the Edo period, Sakamoto Ryoma, is erected. It is a must-see spot for Ryoma fans. It is a 25-minute drive from Nagasaki Station to Mt. Futo, and from the place where you get off at Futoyama Bus Stop, it is 7-8 minutes on foot. There are many slopes in the park, so please wear shoes that are easy to walk in.View original -
長崎を見下ろせる景色は素晴らしいのだが、この公園まで眼鏡橋から徒歩で階段を上ってきたためかなりきつかった。夏ということもあって汗だく。 more »
The view overlooking Nagasaki is wonderful, but it was quite hard because i walked up the stairs from the glasses bridge to this park. It's summer, too.View original

A nice park ontop the hill. With a statue of Sakamoto Ryoma - Samurai Pirate.

Fantastic view! Follow the "samurai trail" of historical pictures. Akari Hostel is very close to start.

One of my favorite parks to visit for a beautiful view of Nagasaki City! I climbed up via steps through a cemetary off of Shianbashi tram stop and though it’s a workout, it’s worth it. The cherry blossoms are beautiful, a statue of Sakamoto Ryoma can be found here, and there’s a small art museum (free admission).

I had a morning hike from my hostel near Nagasaki Station to Kazagashira Park and it took me around half an hour. Along the way I had to climb long flights of stairs through a cemetery. After passing through the cemetery, there are clear signs pointing to the observation deck at the summit. After I reached the top, I was rewarded by great views of the city and the harbour, without the crowds and noises that plague Mt Inasa. There is also a statue of Sakamoto Ryoma, a legendary warrior who played an important role in Japanese politics in the 19th century. As the park is located to the east of the city, a morning visit will give you better photos of the city as the sun is behind you.
