Down the stone stairs from the road is the path to the shrine. In a divine figure reminiscent of Torii is looks Nachi falls in the middle of the stairs, but was down from Nachi waterfall is exactly the God dwelt? and will focus on the eyes. Existed hiryu shrine the Nachi waterfall itself is the object of worship. Climbing down stone steps to the road and the gate is to be a little tight.

“Glorious” What a beautiful place for a shrine to be, somehow I understand the spirituality of a shrine being in such a glorious place at the bottom of Nachi Falls, I was truly impressed. It's not an actual shrine with a temple nevertheless it's still a shrine.

Sanctuary which can be accessed by paying an extra and that allows you to upload to a platform from which you get spectacular views of the Nachi waterfall. It is part of the Nachi Taisha, Kumano Kodo within complex. And it is worth paying, even if you've seen the waterfall from below.

Where to stay in Nachikatsura-cho

You can find a couple of guesthouses and minshukus (private homes with rental rooms) close to the temple, located inland from the center of Nachikatsuura-cho. However, by far the greatest collection of places to stay in Nachikatsuura-cho lies down by the coast. You can find some good budget hotels near the main train stations that run past the water, as well as some side-street guesthouses. Look for traditional ryokans offering onsite spa facilities close to the hot springs.
