Cape Chikyu, Muroran
(3.5/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web)
Observe the earth from a spot where it actually looks round at Cape Chikyu and ring a bell for happiness. Voted the most beautiful scene in Japan, this favorite tourist spot attracts both locals and foreigners year-round, displaying nature at its best. A white octagonal-shape lighthouse and an observatory built at 147 m (482 ft) above the sea level gives the opportunity to take photos overlooking the bay. Listen to sheer force of waves endlessly smashing against rocks and watch the panorama overlooking the bay. You can also watch for dolphins and whales across the Uchiura Bay. Plan your Cape Chikyu visit and explore what else you can see and do in Muroran using our Muroran vacation planner.
