  • Choose a plan and has visited several times. Not much painting project. In JA Member ¥ 100 discount. This time is Alphonse Mucha exhibition. Is permanent, such as Ikuo Hirayama and Ando Tadayoshi; More recently, planning for children, seems quite busy. This museum is the building itself is art. I think that the way to spend a luxurious relaxing space in the courtyard while the tea time.

  • Sagawa is located in the Pipa Lake, overlooking the natural scenery of the Pipa Lake, the museum mainly displays the Japanese painter "Pingshanyuf", sculptor "Sato loyal" and pottery artists "The Left guard door" and other well-known artists works. One of the biggest features is "water", artificial to create the effect of light sparkling, in the sunlight reflected, now unique beauty. Another feature is the "Light and Shadow" of the use of the sun from the patio penetrated into the dim room, it is like in the beautiful stage! Ps: Unfortunately, the display room is not allowed to take pictures.

  • We were taken by friends to visit this Art Museum knowing nothing really about it but after experiencing especially the Raku Kichizaemon exhibition, it was indeed one of the highlights of our trip. We...  more »
  • A good museum with unique theme. The name may suggest that it's about something else, but this museum is actually founded by the Sagawa Foundation separately from the company (besides shipping crates and trucks, Sagawa really likes art!). There are rotating themes here. The place is very clean and the staff is always on full attention. The signs and descriptions for the articles however are usually in Japanese only. Disclosure: I was given a free visit, but writing a review is not in the deal.
  • Especially, you must kill the "tea ceremony room" which is designed by Raku . That is one of the master pieces of modern tea room and you can feel essential Japanese tea culture.
  • After you get off from 守山駅, leave at the right exit, where you can find the right bus station. The time table of the bus has been update since Oct. 1, 2017 so remember to check the photo before your visit! Like the design of the water pool, which is really impressive with the dazzling sun light. :)
  • The museum building is a beautiful piece of architecture. We went to see a temporary exhibit of Alphonse Mucha artwork. It was an outstanding exhibit with an impressive collection of works. Getting to the museum by train and bus is a bit inconvenient, but well worth it.
  • Shiga Prefecture seems to have a lot of nice museums, and this one is my favorite. Absolutely beautiful architecture!
