Amanohashidate is one of Japan's three scenic views. The sandbar is located in Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture. This sand bar is 3.3 km long and covered with about 7,000 pine trees. It can be viewed from mountains on either side of the bay or it can be traversed on foot. Near the southern end is Chion-ji, a Buddhist temple. On the bar is the Isoshimizu fresh water well cherished since the Heian period, which was selected as one of 100 best springs and rivers in Japan by the Environmental Agency in 1985.AccessAmanohashidate Station on the Miyazu Line railway, about two hours from Kyoto Station or Osaka Station, is located within walking distance from the southern end of Amanohashidate.

  • Grape wine production after leaving skins and seeds, to tell the truth very nutritious high. I went because it was very delicious, happens to be what it was kneaded into the chocolate. People who are driving and alcohol is not included because it is safe. Sweet, really recommended! But so far limited production in winter? Sorry!

  • Fresh wine is fruity. I thought it was delicious in the Winery as a tourist location Doubles as a wedding dress people or tourists and crowded. From the hotel's restaurant. There are many different types of wine can taste, is a fun place.

  • Is not recommended at all to Orito liquor is drunk. Newborn vineyard was planted around the wine tasting and cold do is just watching and fining or working on the other side of glass wine the journey. By bagging seems gifts and souvenirs of course wine and grapes, dried currants, were sold. Is recommended to you do not drink that contains alcohol, and moist pound cake also contains red and white wines, but you won't feel did so, pound cake.

  • What a wonderfully scenic escape! If you can make the trip, I highly recommend it. Rent a bike and ride across the land bridge. Very peaceful :)
  • There are very little people so it's a very tranquil place to walk around. But it's quite pricey to travel here from Kyoto. We took the JR train from Kyoto station to Fukuchiyama station (about 2500 yen) then bought the foreigner 1-day pass (1600 yen) for Amanohasidate from Fukuchiyama station. The pass allows us to take the tango railway for free from Fukuchiyama to Amanohashidate station and includes bicycle rental, chairlift and boat ride. I enjoyed cycling along the sandbar. It will be a good day trip from Kyoto if you have an extra day to spare.
  • Top three must seen scenery in Japan. Better go there when nice weather
  • Very quite and impressive! A must-visit if in the area...
  • Really interesting attraction, purchase the day pass at local train station, bike across and take the boat back, make sure to ride the chair lift up and down
