Aoshima Shrine, Miyazaki
(4.1/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
Soak up the reverential atmosphere and pleasant scenery at Aoshima Shrine, a Shinto shrine occupying an attractive spot in the jungle of the island's interior. Thought to have been enshrined in 820 CE, the shrine has become known for providing good fortune in marriage, with young couples arriving here to ask for luck in the years ahead. The shrine's buildings have been rebuilt numerous times over the years, though its bright and bold coloration today works particularly well with the surrounding jungle plant life. • Path through the Torii shrine of Miyazaki is famous in mythology, and toward the center of the shrine is "critical." and, maybe God will have several places where to? And I match up. Thanks to God and prayed for my return flight was cancelled due to typhoon, managed to board the plane one before you can able to come home safely. A nice place so please go and see.

  • Guardian of the shrine are male and MOSS. I think that maybe looking in Japan for will not happen. The shrine has grown dense trees, cedar, not, below trees. I like aoshima Shinto shrine.

  • The morning of the end of September, six was asked. Since early morning, almost no tourists and staff. Staff at a sacred shrine itself is small but, Fortune did not yet ordered anything. Kinda disappointed, arranged in large fortune, such as at home ^ ^; I bought couple charm to come here to celebrate 1000.

  • Beautiful shrine. Good place for a trip with scenic view of the Pacific, good beach, can do surfing as well..
  • Quite unusual setting for a shrine, surrounded by palm trees in the middle of a sandy island. Great place for a date or family trip.
  • This is, without a doubt, one of the most magical and wonderful places in Japan. From the fresh pineapple you can buy from the vendors on the street, to the mango soft cream, to the lovely botanical gardens, the beach, and the island itself, you really cannot go wrong. Added bonus: it's amazing year 'round, but wear a hat and a muffler in the winter, because the winds are strong!
  • Beautiful small island linked by a bridge to Kyushu. The base of the island is a very unique layered and crooked rock formation called "devil's washboard". There is a very thin and long touristic beach on the shore of the Kyushu side. Nothing except trees sand and a shrine on aoshima island. It's a pure scenery place. Try to be there for the sunset.
