Island
Meet the friendly feline inhabitants of Aoshima Island, an island known for its large population of cats. In fact, cats outnumber humans by a ratio of around 6:1 on the island, a fact that becomes immediately clear when arriving on the twice-daily ferry into the harbor. The island, 30 minutes by boat from Ehime prefecture, was home to around 900 people in 1945. Cats were brought to the island to help the fishermen catch mice that were getting onto their boats, and the population has grown steadily ever since. A visit to Aoshima Island represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Miyazaki trip itinerary planner to plot your vacation.

  • Is a tropical atmosphere with plenty of her on the beach weather permitting, very pleasant place. Demon's washing rock too so you can see in the neighborhood.

  • This is the one area in Miyazaki, popular spot, facing the hyuganada Qingdao aoshima Shinto shrine and a monstrous demon's washboard and many tourists visit.

  • I went to when I went on the tour was only to aoshima Shinto shrine visit to a shrine, but this time there was room in time, you can 1周 the island loop road. You could walk on the rock known as demon's washboard as a filled small hole, locate cowrie and small beautiful shells on the beach just a shell, enjoy. I think it may be preferable to cold if cold weather because it was just the wind is blowing.
