Statue of Liberty, Minato

3.3
#62 of 859 in Sightseeing in Tokyo
Monument Landmark
See one of New York's most recognizable landmarks in the middle of the Japanese capital as you look up at Statue of Liberty, a replica of the famous American statue. Constructed in 1998 to commemorate the ''French Year of Japan'' (the original having been a gift to the US from the people of France), the 12.25 m (40 ft) tall statue has long outlasted its originally planned one-year stint overlooking Tokyo Bay. Backed by an impressive bridge and surrounded by a peaceful garden area, the statue suits the urban surroundings of contemporary Japan well. • Not much is is located behind the shopping centre, naturally and authentic New York comparable to not once something of a tourist attraction. A bench on the side overlooking the goddess night background and atmosphere, so filled with a couple.

  • For goodness sake I haven't been fortunate and pleased to see the one and only the statue of liberty in New York, but in this context there is bad in front of the Rainbow bridge ke is very similar to the Brooklyn Bridge. It's the area anyway to be amazing as seen in part this statue.

  • Nice place. The Lady Liberty is of course smaller than the original one in New York but it's still big enough for a background of your selfie or group photo. The waterfront view is also amazing. Close to Tokyo Cruise too.
  • Whadda wonderrific view! It's a cozy place to hang out with your friends or have a date (lol). Love a night views of Odaiba.
  • If you're just walking about and happen to stumble across this gem, it offers a nice bridge to take good photos and selfies from. It's quite easy to get past the tourist. Behind, you've got a great view of the television building, and ahead of the statue, a wonderful of the water and city. If you walk down you can take some lovely photos of the Sakura, if in bloom.
  • After all when do you get to see a New York statue of liberty in Japan. Nice, romantic and very peaceful
  • I've seen the real one in New York, but I randomly happened across this one. It's not as big as you want it to be, but all in all not a bad Statue of Liberty. 2nd best one I've seen.

Where to stay in Tokyo

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi. Meanwhile, hostels catering to the shoestring traveler lie scattered throughout the city. For a memorable, distinctly Japanese experience, seek out a ryokan, a traditional bed and breakfast with tatami floor mats and sliding screen doors.
