Rainbow Bridge, Minato
(4.2/5 based on 1,200+ reviews on the web)
Stroll across Rainbow Bridge, a 798 m (2,618 ft) suspension bridge spanning northern Tokyo Bay and offering sweeping views of the city. Completed in 1993, the bridge includes walkways on the north and south sides of its lower deck. From the north side, see the inner harbor and iconic tower; from the south, observe the bay and, on particularly clear days, catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji in the distance. At night, colorful lights illuminate the bridge, while walkers stop at the benches positioned near the support towers to talk and reflect on scenery. Note that bicycle riding is not permitted. By using our Tokyo trip generator, you can arrange your visit to Rainbow Bridge and other attractions in Tokyo.

  • One of the best sunset spots in all of Tokyo. Even in summer it can be cool and windy, which is a nice break from the heat, but remember a jacket. I sat here for an hour waiting to see the sunset and the lights come on and it was worth the wait. You need to see the sun set from the Odaiba Aqua City side of the river.
  • Views are superb however lots of noise from cars and you can feel the fumes in the air when breathing BEWARE the bridge is not always opened for pedestrians - it's from ~9 to 21 but you have to enter the bridge before 20.30 - I tried to get there from odaiba side at 20.32 and the gate was already closed Times are for summer in winter it closes earlier
  • If you decide to take the tram over to Odaiba, make sure you get the front seat. The ride is really nice.
  • Extremely beautiful bridge - the view from Odaiba on the beach behind Decks at sunset is one of the best romantic views in Tokyo.
  • Nice view and rare experience walking through a bridge over Tokyo. Riding bicycle is not allowed but they give you wheels to carry your bike on.
