Roam the streets and malls of Odaiba, a popular Tokyo entertainment and shopping district situated on an artificial island. Created in 1850, the island has experienced a revival in the late 20th century, becoming a prominent hotspot for shopping and leisure activities. Wander among tall skyscrapers and eclectic modern buildings, browse countless shops, or check out numerous dining options there. For a more laid-back outing, take a relaxing stroll on the beach boardwalk or have a picnic in the park. Use our Tokyo vacation builder to arrange your visit to Odaiba and other attractions in Tokyo.

  • To get to Odaiba from 1985, take the Yurikamome line from Shimbashi station and travel with a fully automated monorail train suspended over the city below. After enjoying glimpses and views offered from the trip you Daiba station from which you can reach on foot the most attractions. This small island, whose name "daiba" means strong, during the Edo period was dotted with small fortresses to repel maritime attacks but now has turned into a temple of fun plenty of shopping centres. Among the various options available to you I recommend you visit the Center DiverCity with colossal reproduction of Gundam and a museum dedicated to him, to enjoy a sunset with the skyline of Tokyo and admire the replicas of the Brooklyn Bridge (the Japanese version is called the Rainbow Bridge) and the statue of liberty to scale. Also find interesting architecturally the building of telecommunications (Telecom Center) and the National Museum of Emerging Science and, after a ride on the Ferris Wheel, the Ferris wheel 115 metres high, you might also decide to stay for dinner, after all, no shortage of restaurants offers.
