(4.4/5 based on 60+ reviews on the web)
The International House of Japan is a private, non-profit organization incorporated, with support from the Rockefeller Foundation and other private institution and individuals, in 1952 for the purpose of promoting cultural exchange and intellectual cooperation between the peoples of Japan and those of other countries.

Housed in a handsome structure built in 1955 and enlarged in 1976, it is a working international community engaged directly in a variety of programs that embody the free exchange and interaction of ideas and that strive to foster a climate favorable to international cooperation.

The International House received designation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Special Corporation in the Public Interest, a status conveying special tax benefits, in November 1989. As of April 1, 2012, the International House received authorization from the Prime Minister's office to become a Public Interest Incorporated Foundation.

  • Being a member of the House, my review is probably partial. The International House of Japan is a pleasant alternative to busy, bigger hotels in Tokyo. The garden and the open air terrace are my favor...  more »
  • So I went to the six Buri always come to a Japanese and Western harmony or form, I think. Down in the basement before going to a restaurant, take a walk on your garden. Is, of course, this members-only restaurant and hotel what is near old culture from overseas customers looking for a member of the International House of Japan, while recalling that the cultural exchange was used as an entry point to inviting Japan to place, why not go with the meal.

  • Beautiful gardens, very quiet well coordinated space.
  • A quiet tranquil spot in the middle of Tokyo. The rooms are very comfortable. Great choice for business meetings.
  • the cafe inside is peaceful and has a view of a Japanese garden. There are always few people, mostly elderlies. Recommendable for short stays at the hotel and a Sunday brunch at a quite atmosphere.
  • In this wedding we received. The Hall ceiling height of about 3000 square meters garden. Wonderful memories. Roast beef and cake buffet and delicious! ☆ (I eat 😭)
